Phil Lesh, back on the west coast, invited some phriends for a show at his Terrapin Crossroads last week. Phil’s line-up was a doozie and included Karl Denson, John Medeski, Stu Allen, DJ Williams, Mark Levy and Grahame Lesh.
In addition to plenty of Dead, Phil and Friends also jammed on Bob Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower” and The Band’s “The Weight.” Karl Denson’s explosive saxophone jams make this a must-watch.
Set 1: Here Comes Sunshine, West L.A. Fadeaway, Easy Wind, Bird Song, Shakedown Street and Mason’s Children.
Set 2: Help On The Way, Slipknot!, Franklin’s Tower, Mountains of the Moon, All Along the Watch Tower, St. Stephen, The Other One, Unbroken Chain and Scarlet Begonias.
Encore: The Weight
Thanks to Johnnie Furthur for the recording.
