Watch Phil Lesh and Friends Kick Off Second Set with “St. Stephen” in Denver

Phil Lesh is back on the road this winter with a pair of shows at The Mission Ballroom in Denver. Phil will venture further east next month with shows in Chicago and then his annual birthday run at the Capital Theater in Port Chester, NY.

Joining Phil in Denver for the two night run was James Casey, Natalie Cressman, Jennifer Hartswick, Jason Crosby, Grahame Lesh, Rick Mitarotonda (Goose), and John Molo.

The phriends went the distance on “St. Stephen” to open the second set on the second night before segueing into a cover of The Byrds’ “Eight Miles High.”

Watch Joe Russo’s Almost Dead’s Acoustic Set at the Cap – 1/29/2023 Video

Joe Russo’s Almost Dead finished up their 10th anniversary run at the Capitol Theater in grand style last night. After getting the crowd warmed up with a few tunes including a rocking “St. Stephen,” JRAD pulled an audible and switched from electric to acoustic for the remainder of the first set.

12 minutes deep into “St. Stephen,” the stage crew started assembling a second kit for the band. Four minutes later, JRAD transitioned to an acoustic cover of Waylon Jennings’ “Only Daddy That’ll Walk.”

Watch Dark Star Orchestra’s Show at the Paramount – 11/26/2022 Video

Grateful Dead tribute band Dark Orchestra has been keeping the flame alive for the last 25 years. DSO rolled into Huntington, NY for a pair of shows at The Paramount.

One the first night, DSO recreated a show from summer tour ‘87. On night two, they choose to do an elective set and put together an epic setlist.

Phil Lesh and Friends residency at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY continued this past weekend. Phil was joined by his third cast of friends for their final weekend at the Cap this October.

It’s hard to call any of the line-ups Phil brought to the Cap the best, but the crew he assembled on 10/28 was definitely formidable. Joining Phil on bass was Jason Crosby on keyboards, violin, Eric Krasno on guitar, vocals and Tony Leone on drums, Grahame Lesh on guitar, vocals, Nicki Bluhm on vocals, percussion and Marcus King on guitar and vocals.
