One of the most anticipated acts at LOCKN’ this year was Phil Lesh with the Terrapin Family Band. The group was to be joined by Bob Weir for a recreation of the classic Grateful Dead album Terrapin Station. Terrapin Station turned 40 this year and Peter Shapiro put together an amazing way to celebrate it’s birthday at LOCKN’.
The second set was the recreation of the album, but the first set wasn’t too shabby either. Warren Haynes joined for “New Minglewood Blues” and Bob Weir joined the crew at the end of the set for “Jack Straw > Uncle John’s Band.”
In the second set, the Terrapin Family Band delivered Terrapin Station in full with the help of Phil Lesh and Bob Weir. For added vocal firepower, Nicki Bluhm joined on the Martha Reeves and The Vandellas cover “Dancin’ in the Streets.”
