Update: We have full video of the first JRAD LOCKN’ show thanks to cosmofromkokomo.

LOCKN’ has teamed up with Relix to stream the entire festival for free through their YouTube channel. While free, donations are being accepted for the Heal Charlottesville fund, so don’t be stingy! The stream provided a front row view to so many amazing sets including Marcus King Band, Phil Lesh and the Terrapin Family Band featuring Bob Weir and Gov’t Mule featuring Ann Wilson of Heart. After Bob Weir joined Phil Lesh, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead took the late night slot and blew everyone away (as usual.)

Last year, JRAD’s LOCKN’ sets were among the best sets of the year.

Last night (or rather early this morning), JRAD was joined by My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James. James had done a solo set earlier in the day. My Morning Jacket’s show at LOCKN’ last year was arguably the best show of the year, so it was easy to see why the organizers brought James back for this year as well.

Aside from their Grateful Dead repertoire, JRAD has been slowly exploring other musical interests during their live shows including Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen. I don’t think anybody was prepared for the late night cure ball collaboration that JRAD through last night. Jim James and JRAD plowed through an energetic version of 90’s Janes Addiction anthem “Been Caught Stealing.” While musically much different than the Dead, Jane’s Addiction classic fit perfectly and provided another highlight of an already epic day of music at LOCKN’.
