Gov’t Mule (along with dozens of other of bands) landed in Quincy, California for the 27th annual High Sierra Music Festival this past weekend. Mule was given the headlining spot on Sunday night to close out the festival. Well technically the Greyboy Allstars jammed until the wee hours of the morning at the late night stage, but you know what I mean.
To close out their extended festival set, Warren and the boys welcomed guitar virtuoso and friend of the Mule Eric McFadden to the stage. With the double lead guitar formation in place, the Mule treated High Sierra to a cover of the Allman Brothers Band’s “Whipping Post.” McFadden and Haynes traded licks during the solo, veered off the beaten path a little and then brought it home. A great way to close out the set.
Thanks to Jam Catcher for the great footage!
