After their appearance at Wanee, Gov’t Mule kicked off their spring tour down south. Their tour stop in Memphis featured a few sit ins from Soulive’s guitar slinger, Eric Krasno.
Towards the end of set one, Krasno sat in on this rockin’ cover of Bob Marley’s “Lively Up Yourself” with a little “Black Dog” tease thrown in for good measure. It’s hard to beat Haynes and Krasno trading lick for lick on the back half of the cover.
In the second set, Krasno came back out for another extended jam. This time it was a cover of “Stratus” by Billy Cobham. As with the Marley cover, Warren and Krasno threw in a couple of teases including “Hottentot” and “Highway Star.”
Finger’s crossed for a recording of this show—the setlist is gold.
Thanks to Robby Reeves and patrick tremblay for the great footage!
