Jam band mainstays, moe. returned with their festival moe.down after a three year hiatus. Moe.down XVI included headliners like Blackberry Smoke and Railroad Earth, in addition to seven sets of moe over this past weekend in Turin, NY.
In their opening set on 6/30, moe. got right down to business. Towards the end of the set, Al Schnier and moe. paid homage to Allman Brothers Band co-founder Gregg Allman who passed earlier this year. Years ago, moe. was fortunate enough to open up for the Allman Brothers on tour, so they know a thing or two about their catalogue.
The cover of “In Memory for Elizabeth Reed” started out mellow and picked up steam as moe. settled in for the extended jam.
Thanks to Rob Clarke for the recording.
