Oteil and Friends continued their short, but awesome tour before Oteil heads out on tour with Dead and Company. On Saturday, Oteil and his all-star line-up played to a sold-out crowd at the Neighborhood Theater in Charlotte, NC.
Oteil played a lot of the tunes he played in Athens, with the addition of some covers like “Stormy Monday” and “Proud Mary.” With the soulful Alfreda Gerald on vocals, the band can go places that a normal Dead ensemble wouldn’t be able to.
Burbridge, Krasno, Kadlecik, Seals and the rest of the band trotted out plenty of Dead tunes and Jerry Garcia Band favorites including “Eyes of the World,” “Cats Under the Stars,” “Reuben & Cherise,” “Bertha” and “That’s What Love Will Make You Do.”
