Scott Metzger, guitarist for Joe Russo’s Almost Dead and Bustle in Your Hedgerow, is the frontman for Wolf! which is a total departure from the music of the Grateful Dead and Led Zeppelin. Wolf! is an instrumental trio that highlights Metzger’s guitar playing.

Wolf! opened up for the Benevento Russo Duo at the Freaks Ball at the Brooklyn Bowl this past Groundhog’s Day. Frequent collaborator with Metzger, Benevento came out for a couple of tunes half way through the set.

Wolf!’s music is definitely a new sound. Metzger’s tunes are hypnotic, funky compositions that are a bit erie at times. This is definitely a band to watch!
