Phish has kicked off their Riviera Maya run of shows last night which coincidentally was also their first show of the year. Unfortunately for Phish fans, these are going to be the last shows for the foreseeable future. Luckily there are three nights! Fingers crossed for that rumored baker’s dozen run of shows at MSG this summer!

Phish opened the first set of the first song with the perfect tune, “Free.” For the fans not at the show, the scene of warm breezes, palm trees and people dancing in the sea is magical. The “Free” lyrics “In a minute I’ll be free and you’ll be splashing in the sea” take on a literal meaning in Mexico.

Phish is doing a webcast for all three nights and livestreaming the opening song of each set on their Facebook page. Looking forward to another two nights in paradise with Phish!
