Phish’s last show of the summer before heading to Watkins Glen for Curveball was the second of two nights at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. For those not fortunate enough to snag a Curveball ticket but made it to Merriweather, there was plenty to be grateful for.
The first set was rocking, with a “Llama” out of the gate and some heavy hitters like “Tweezer,” “Bathtub Gin” and “Chalk Dust Torture” all making first set appearances.
The second set saw not one, but two “Tweezer Reprises”—one to kick off the set and the other one was tucked in after a rocking “Piper” and before “Backwards Down the Number Line.” The P-fish finished the second set strong with “2001” featuring plenty of ‘Woo!’ing (Trey approves the woo, btw) and then “Harry Hood.”
Just when you thought it doesn’t get better than two “Tweezer Reprises” in a show, Trey and the boys cap the night off with a “Tweezer Reprise” encore after “Heavy Things” and “Bug.”
