Listen to Trey Anastasio Band’s Funky Show at The Van Buren – 1/21/2020 AUD

Trey Anastasio Band has made their way west from the Capitol Theatre where they kicked off their winter 2020 tour. While the West Coast usually gets snubbed on Phish summer tour, the newly announced Summer 2020 tour shows love to the left coast. Arizona isn’t on the tour, however Trey has shown the 48th state some love the last couple of years with a solo stop and this past week a Trey Anastasio Band gig at The Van Buren in Phoenix.

Trey treated AZ to a killer setlist that included plenty of TAB originals and Phish classic like “Heavy Things” and “Camel Walk.” TAB even went a capella mode on “Brief Time” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”

Listen to Trey Anastasio’s Phenomenal Acoustic Set at Smith Opera House – 10/15/2019 AUD

Fall is officially here—the leaves are changing, play-off baseball is in full swing and Trey Anastasio is doing his solo-acoustic run of shows. While the East Coast usually gets all the love, Trey has a ton of dates in the midwest in the next two weeks. The two week tour ends with a pair of gigs are Carnegie Hall in NYC.

Last night Trey kicked off the tour with a monster show at the Smith Opera House in Geneva, NY. The 28-song setlist featured Trey solo material and a ton of Phish tunes and everything in-between.

Watch Page McConnell Join Trey Anastasio Band for Encore at the Beacon

Trey Anastasio’s new documentary Me and My Mind premiered last night at the Beacon Theater in NYC as part of the Tribeca Film Festival. After the premier, Trey and his band took the stage for a special set.

TAB, which usually tours in Phish’s offseason has taken a break while Trey has been touring with his new project, Ghosts of the Forest this spring. This performance last night at the Beacon marks TAB’s first show of the year.

For the encore, Trey welcomed his friend and Phish co-founder Page McConnell to join on keys. Trey started the encore with an acoustic “More” before McConnell joined for “Heavy Things” and “Blaze On.”

Listen to Trey Anastasio’s “Ghost > Say it to me S.A.N.T.O.S.” in Mesa – 12/3/2018 Full Show AUD

Trey Anastasio, who is in between the Phish Las Vegas and MSG runs, is out on the road for a handful of solo acoustic gigs. Last night he kicked off the solo tour in Mesa, Arizona at the Ikeda Theater at Mesa Arts Center.

One of the big questions after the Halloween run in Vegas, is whether Phish will work all the new material they dropped into future shows. Trey quickly answered that question by opening with “Turtle in the Clouds” which is the opening track to Kasvot Växt’s í rokk.

The show also included “You Gotta See Mama Every Night,” a tune Phish hasn’t played since 3/6/1993! For the encore, busted out some Oysterhead with “Rubberneck Lions” before playing more of the new material. Trey expertly wove “Ghost” and the new phan favorite “Say it to me S.A.N.T.O.S.” together. Halfway through the mash-up, Trey admits that on Halloween they forgot the second verse when they “covered” “Say it to me S.A.N.T.O.S.” If there was any question as to whether the song will be a new favorite, you can hear nearly the entire crowd singing “This is what space smells like” towards the end of the song.

Phish closed out their three night run at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL this past Sunday. The three night run marked their first return to Rosemont in 15 years. After an awesome night one and night two, the old adage remained true: never miss a Sunday show!
