While Turkuaz Horns and Primate Fiasco where the official Peach Festival artists at large, Marcus King seemed to be everywhere. He sat in with Widespread Panic on a couple of tunes on Saturday night, did a scorching cover of “Can’t You See” with Gov’t Mule and Jack Pearson, performed a set with his band and kicked off Saturday morning (well, it was noon) with a VIP acoustic set. Wow.
Marcus’ crew asked taper extraordinaire Keith Litzenberger to capture the soundboard of this intimate set.
Normally Marcus is slinging one of his Gibsons, backed by a five piece band complete with a horn section. This intimate, solo acoustic set gives us a peak at the raw talent this 21-year old prodigy possesses. The songs are short and concise, but the guitar work and singing are remarkable. What a gem.
Thanks again to Keith Litzenberger for the great recording!
