Dead and Company’s first run of their tour started on Saturday night at Citi Field, in New York City. Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, usually home to baseball games had an altogether different vibe this weekend.

From the jammy Shakedown Street opener, you knew that this was going to be a great show. As with earlier in the tour, Donna Godchaux made another surprise appearance. Unlike some of the other shows during the tour, NYC keeps later hours and so did Dead and Company. The second song of the encore, “One More Saturday Night” went ended past midnight!
