The in the early 80s, Jerry Garcia teamed up with bassist John Kahn for a series of acoustic tours. During the summer of ‘82 the duo visited the Oregon State Penitentiary for a gig.

The inaugural Sacred Rose Festival in Bridgeview, IL is off and running this weekend at Seatgeek Stadium Campus. The three day festival has a heady lineup including Khruangbin, JRAD, Goose and Phil Lesh and Friends.

Phil Lesh was joined by a killer crew of friends including Jeff Tweedy, Nels Cline, Elliott Peck, Jeff Chimenti, Karl Denson, John Molo, Stu Allen, and Grahame Lesh. Wow.

Watch Jerry Garcia and John Kahn’s Show at the Capitol Theater in ‘86

Christopher Hazard is back with another great remastered video. The latest footage comes from Jerry Garcia’s tour stop in Passaic, NJ at the old Capitol Theater from January, 31 1986 with John Kahn.

During the mid-80s, Jerry teamed up with bassist John Kahn for a string of acoustic dates. The gigs including some Dead tunes, JGB selections and other rarities.

Listen to Phil Lesh and Friends’ Halloween Run Finale at the Cap – 10/31/2021 AUD

Phil Lesh finished his 9-show residency this past weekend at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY. Phil’s final show at the Cap featured Nicki Bluhm on vocals and percussion, Griffin Goldsmith on drums and vocals, Taylor Goldsmith on guitar and vocals, Grahame Lesh on guitar and vocals, Trevor Menear on guitar and vocals, Lee Pardini on keyboards and vocals, Teresa Williams on vocals and percussion and  of course Phil Lesh on bass and vocals.

Guitar slinger and good friend of Phil Lesh, Larry Campbell joined the crew for “Dire Wolf” during the first set and “Terrapin Station” during the second set. The run capped off with the perfect encore—”Werewolves of London” for Halloween and “Ripple” for the final song of the 9-show run.
