Joe Russo’s Almost Dead continued their RADtober run at the Brooklyn Bowl last night, kicking off the second half of the six October dates they are scheduled to play in BK. The show also happened to land on JRAD guitarist Scott Metzger’s 40th birthday. Metzger proved that the older you get, the hotter the jams are.

Among the many treats JRAD brought to the Brooklyn Bowl last night, was the most unexpected bust out of a Radiohead cover. “The Bends” off the album with the same name from Radiohead, was the bands second album and released in 1995. JRAD debuted the cover back in October of 2015 and hasn’t played it in the 71 shows since then. The cover came out of the blue from “Help on the Way > Slipknot!” just when everyone was expecting “Franklin’s Tower” or “Shakedown Street.”

The rest of the show was straight fire. From the “Throwing Stones” opener to super raggae infused “Estimated Prophet,” these guys know how to do the Dead.
