The Grateful Dead historic album, American Beauty turned 50 this year. To celebrate, the Dead are releasing a special 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of the legendary album that includes some special extra tracks.
One of the bonus tracks off the upcoming 50th anniversary release is a live version of “Truckin'” from one of the Dead’s six shows at the Capitol Theater in February of 1971. Their show on February 18th, was historic for a number of reasons. First, the Dead debuted a bunch of future classics at the show including “Bertha,” “Loser” and “Wharf Rat” among others. Secondly this would be Mickey Hart’s last show until he returned to the Dead line up on 10-20-74.
Thanks to the Grateful Dead for the recording!
