The Grateful Dead are back with another terrific installment of their All the Years Live YouTube series. The latest track is from the Dead’s final show at RFK stadium in Philadelphia, PA.
Tucked into the second set before “Drums” and “Space,” Jerry lead the band in a beautiful rendition of the late 80’s classic “Standing on the Moon.” Here is what Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux has to say about the performance, “From its debut earlier in 1989, Standing On The Moon was greeted as a wonderful addition to the Grateful Dead’s repertoire. Wonderfully vivid Hunter lyrics with a late-era classic Jerry ballad made for a beautiful moment whenever it was played, and this version from the second set of the final performance at JFK Stadium is spectacular.”
Thanks to the Grateful Dead for the great footage!
