We interrupt our regularly scheduled We Will Get By Streaming Tour to bring you tonight’s Shakedown Stream. But have no fear—the We Will Get By Streaming Tour will air after the Shakedown Stream and feature the Dead’s Soldier Field show from this day in 1994. This week’s show is the first of three at the Shoreline Amphitheater to kick off the 1989 Fall tour.
The footage of the show has been unreleased up until now. Highlights of the show include a huge bust-out of “Death Don’t Have No Mercy” which hadn’t been played since the early 70s, a rocking solo version of “Franklin’s Tower” and the always spectacular “Blow Away” with Brent Mydland taking front and center.
