The wait is over—Dead and Company reunited last night in San Francisco for an unofficial start to their fall tour. Bobby, Johnny Lightning and rest of the band wrapped up their other projects, some as late as last night and made their way to AT&T Park to raise funds for the families devastated by the wildfires and the many heroes who risked their lives to save others.
Band Together featured Metallica, Rancid, Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds among other acts. Dead and Company’s set was a short 55 minutes, but was a great warm-up for their upcoming fall tour that officially kicks off across the country at MSG in NYC this weekend.
Dead and Company kicked off their set with one of Bobby’s favorite tunes, “Playin’ in the Band” before launching into arguably one of John Mayer’s favorite Dead tunes, “Deal.” With limited time, Dead and Co didn’t mess around and busted out a killer “Scar > Fire.” The Dead’s classic cover of “Not Fade Away” followed up “Touch of Grey.”
