Got the summertime blues? Go on a long, strange tour with me through time. Every day in the month of July, we’ll feature a vintage recording from the Dead. Tune in on YouTube and join the chat as we explore the wonders of summer tours past. We will get by, we will survive!
Our next stop on the We Will Get By Streaming Tour is the Hollywood Bowl in the summer of 1974. The Wall of Sound was in full effect when the Dead rolled into Hollywood on July 21, 1974.
While most of the shows on this streaming tour have been soundboards, this selection is an audience, but it is outstanding. The show itself is a smoker—perfect representation of the era. The “China > Rider,” and “Playing in the Band > Wharf Rat” are top-notch.
