We lost one of the greatest lyricists of all time and the writer of dozens classic Grateful Dead songs last week. Robert Hunter passed away at the age of 78 on September 23rd.

What an incredible body of work!

The night after Hunter passed, Gov’t Mule rolled into the motor city for the a show at the Fillmore. During the second set, Warren Haynes who is no stranger to Hunter’s work, paid tribute to the late singer songwriter in the second set. The Mule treated Detroit to covers of “Dark Star,” “Loser,” and “Sugaree.”

As an added bonus, Larry McCray came out to join Warren and the boys on “That’s What Love Will Make You Do.”
