Scott Amendola, a jazz drummer who is a staple in the San Francisco music scene, brought his quartet to Phil Lesh’s Terrapin Crossroads.
Phil made a surprise sit-in with Amendola’s Quartet for a couple of tunes including the Grateful Dead’s “Dark Star.” The tune starts out with a jazzy, dark jam that finds it’s way to Phil’s unmistakable opening bass line. Singer-songwriter for Midnight North and frequent Grateful Dead collaborator, Elliot Peck joined on the “Dark Star” odyssey as well.
Thanks to Deadheadland for the great front row footage!
