The Grateful Dead returned to YouTube with another installment of All the Years Live. The latest stop on the long strange trip takes us back to the Winterland in ’74. The Dead did five gigs at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco in October before going on their hiatus.

During their show on 10/17/1974, the Dead went the distance on “The Other One.” Here is what Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux noted about the performance, “A centerpiece of the Grateful Dead’s second album, Anthem Of The Sun, The Other One broke off from its complete That’s It For The Other One suite in 1971 aside from a 1972 one-off, and a few performances of Jerry’s Cryptical Envelopment in 1985. Skull & Roses contains what is often considered the definitive live version, taking up a complete side of vinyl of that 1971 masterpiece.”

Thanks again to the Grateful Dead for the great footage!
