Eric Clapton played the second of two nights at Madison Square Garden last night—his only remaining tour dates this year.
Old Slowhand’s annual pilgrimage to NYC and Madison Square Garden has predictable setlists and guests, but is still one of the most coveted concert tickets of the year. At 73 years old, Clapton rarely takes the stage and rumors abound about how is hands don’t work like they use to. From the looks of it, Clapton’s still got it.
Eric’s setlist was a career-spanning look at the work of one of the greatest blues and rock guitarists ever. Among the classics Clapton shared was a beautiful version of “Layla.”
Clapton also jammed on “White Room,” “I Shot the Sheriff,” “Cocaine” and a sit-in from Gary Clark Jr. on “High Time We Went.”
