Dead and Company resumed operations last night in Washington D.C. at the Capitol One Arena. D&C is well into their fall tour and have been melting faces across the East Coast before turning westward.
For the second time this tour, Johnny Lightning and the boys kicked off the second set with the legendary “Helps on the Way > Slipknot! > Franklin’s Tower.” Some criticized Dead and Co for the early repeat in the tour, but as you’ll see from the video, the run takes on a totally different complexion than the first one of the tour in NYC.
D.C. was also treated to a second set “Terrapin Station.” Other highlights from the evening including a smoking “Deal,” and the obligatory political-fueled “Throwing Stones” in D.C. The other non-musical highlight of the evening was Mayer’s Charlie Brown-esque robe he wore on stage.
