Update: Check out the excellent footage of the classic B.B. King tune thanks to RhymanTube!

It may have been Gov’t Mule’s Island Exodus, but Soulive also rocked Runaway Bay with 3 shows over the extended weekend. The last one was an extended late night set that included a few friends, including Warren Haynes and Ron Holloway.

Towards the end of their set, Eric Krasno and the rest of Soulive welcomed out Warren & Ron to jam on one of the all-time greatest blues songs by B.B. King—”The Thrill is Gone.” Eric and Warren have collaborated many times on the blues standard including at Gov’t Mule’s Island Exodus back in 2011.

Soulive and Warren took “The Thrill is Gone” to task and really dialed it up in the middle of the song. Eric and Warren each shine on the guitar solos and the whole band has a great energy.

The footage is courtesy of Soulive’s Facebook page. AnneMarie Lewis, who has gotten great footage of the the last couple of nights, got some footage of the Soulive and Friends encore. Fast forward to about 14:20 to catch Nicki Bluhm join the crew for Grateful Dead’s “Turn On Your Lovelight.”

What a way to end Island Exodus!
