After Furthur disbanded in 2014, Bob Weir and Phil Lesh have taken the stage together just a hand full of times. In 2018, Bobby and Phil announced a real treat for Deadheads – a duo tour!

During the short run, Weir and Lesh stopped at Radio City Music Hall for a pair of shows. On the second night, Phish guitarist and Fare Thee Well bandmate, Trey Anastasio joined for the entire second set.

First Look: Watch the Grateful Dead Truck Up to Buffalo in Summer 1990 – 7/16/1990 Video

The Grateful Dead kept the music from stopping for another Friday night during quarantine with unreleased footage from Summer 1990. For their first shakedown stream, the Dead shared their Buffalo summer tour stop from 1989. Last night’s concert was their stop at Buffalo the following summer.

A few of the highlights from the show include Brent delivering the goods on “Blow Away,” an awesome “Let It Grow” and Jerry’s impassioned “Ship of Fools” in the second set.

Watch Dead and Company’s 2019 Halloween Show at MSG – 10/31/2019 Video

Dead and Company returned to YouTube last night with their One More Saturday Night streams. Last night’s featured show was from their Fall Fun Run this past year at Madison Square Garden on 10/31.

Not one to let Halloween go by without a bit of fanfare, Weir donned his kilt for the show. After an uncharacteristic acoustic “Ripple” opener, Bobby, Johnny and the boys got the party started with “Shakedown Street.”

Watch the Grateful Dead Go the Distance at Foxboro During Summer ’89 – 7/2/1989 Video

We are approaching our third month of quarantine and while some of the country is opening back up, it’s safe to say that the concert experience we know and love will not be back for a long, long time. Luckily, the Grateful Dead have stepped up to the plate and hit a game-saving home run with their weekly Shakedown Stream.

Every Shakedown Stream is proceeded by a Pre-Show interview or chat. None other than Bob Weir appeared with Gary Lambert and David Lemieux during the pre-show to talk about life in quarantine among other topics. Bobby remarked that defunct recordings studio, “TRI is a flying saucer on the tarmac.” Let’s hope we see some more high quality recordings from TRI this summer!

Last night, the Dead share a show from Foxboro, MA during their summer 1989 tour on July 2nd. Mass-heads knew they were in for a treat when a smiling Jerry lead the Dead in an opening “Playin’ in the Band > Crazy Fingers > Wang Dang Doodle” that felt more like a second set jam than a first set opener.
