Garcia’s, the beloved bar and venue attached to the Capitol Theatre has officially reopened after shuttering it’s doors due to COVID. To celebrate the re-opening of the venue, Peter Shapiro was able to nab the legendary George Porter Jr. for a four-night stand.
Last night marked the third night of the run for Porter and his band the Runnin’ Pardners which includes Michael Lemmler on keyboards & vocals, Chris Adkins on guitar & vocals and Terrence Houston on drums & vocals. During their set, George treated Garcia’s to a cover of Bob Marley’s “Stop That Train.”
Thanks to btragal for the footage! Great to see music is alive and well at Garcia’s once again!
