With Wanee in full effect, the surprise jams and collaborations are starting to pop-up. One of the highlights from yesterday was Marcus King’s sit-in with Widespread Panic.
The soon-to-be guitar legend teamed up with Widespread Panic and one of the greatest guitarist of the last few decades, Jimmy Herring for a blistering cover of the Allman Brothers signature tune “Mountain Jam.” Jimmy Herring is no stranger to the Allman Brothers catalogue having toured with them in the 2000’s.
Jimmy’s guitar work on “Mountain Jam” is superb, but when Marcus King takes his turn, the heat on this jam really turns up.
Warning: the bass on this footage is a bit distorted, but the guitars are crystal clear and make it definitely worth checking out. Thanks to Fred Ramadan for grabbing the footage and posting it pronto!
