The Allman Brother’s set at LOCKN’ 2014 was an emotional occasion for so many reasons. ABB had decided to hang it up after 45 years and this was going to be their last year touring. This LOCKN’ show was the band’s first show without their legendary roadie and Warren Haynes stunt double, Brian Farmer. You can see from the footage that the entire band are wearing the Johnny Cash style Brian Farmer shirts as a tribute to him. Finally, ABB decided to recreate their landmark live album At Fillmore East at LOCKN’. After ending with the Whipping Post posted above, the Allmans busted out four more tunes including a 20 minute Mountain Jam.

Watching this footage makes you remember just how remarkable the band was. After 45 years to be able to deliver these songs with such intensity and passion is remarkable.

LOCKN’ 2016 is less than a week away and the only ABB member slated to be there is Derek Trucks with the Tedeschi Trucks Band. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a Allman tune or two in their set.

Check out the pro-footage of Furthur and Trey Anastasio that LOCKN’ 2013. released from their vault recently also.
