After the biggest disappointment of the summer and among the shittier moments in Phish history, the P-fish moved on past the canceled Curveball festival and onto their annual Dick’s run in Colorado.
Curveball ticket holders weren’t left completely empty handed. Phish gave everyone that made the trek out to Watkins Glen a free weekend webcast pass to Dicks. Perhaps as a nod to the tens of thousands of Phans watching the webcast free last night, set one kicked off with “Free.”
What followed after “Free” was one of the most remarkable first sets from Phish this year. A rare first set “Harry Hood” came next along with some other killer jams including “Blaze On,” “Ghost” and “Crosseyed and Painless.” “Simple even had a tasty jam before the set ending “Cavern.”
While the second set had highlights, Phish played the first set like they had something to prove after Curveball.
