Phish was just one of many bands in NYC and around the world ringing in the new year on NYE. About forty blocks north of Madison Square Garden, Gov’t Mule set up shop at the Beacon Theater for their annual NYE run.
While year’s past have had very intentional themed New Years show, the Mule teased a Beatles theme weeks before the concert. For the second set, Connor Kennedy, the new guitarist for Steely Dan joined the Mule to jam on some classic Beatles tunes.
Blues guitarist and frequent collaborator Jimmy Vivino joined the Mule deep into the third set.
