Phil Lesh and Friends traveled back to the east coast for a pair of shows at the Capitol Theater. Phil enlisted some usual suspects and a very special guitar player for the run at the Cap.
Phil was joined by Jorma Kaukonen (Hot Tuna and Jefferson Airplane) on guitar and vocals, Grahame Lesh on guitar and vocals, John Molo on drums and Rob Barraco on keyboards and vocals.
Night one took on a bluesy vibe with plenty of classic Dead tunes and covers like “New Speedway Boogie,” “Smokestack Lightning,” “Viola Lee Blues” and “Death Don’t Have No Mercy.” Phil, Jorma and friends also treated the Cap to a couple of Bob Dylan tunes including “All Along the Watchtower” and “Knocking on Heaven’s Door.”
