Los Lobos hit up the City Winery in Chicago last month. The band marked their 45th year last year and from the sounds of this Chicago show, are still going strong.
Los Lobos knows a thing or two about the Grateful Dead. David Hidalgo and the boys opened for the Dead a bunch in the late 80s. On more than one occasion Jerry either sat in with Los Lobos or members of the band jammed with the Dead.
The City Winery in Chicago was treated to an acoustic set and an electric set from Los Lobos. Among the covers the East L.A. band busted out was “West L.A. Fadeaway” by the Grateful Dead.
Thanks to Alex Ford for the great recording! Check out the whole show here.
