Sets like this is what made Bonnaroo great back in the day.
Les Claypool was touring with the Fearless Flying Frog Brigade in support of their new album, Purple Onion back in 2002. The Bonnaroo stop featured a lot of their original tunes off the album, plus some killer covers including Locomotive Breath.
The highlight of the show (other than Les’ banter) was when Warren comes out to fulfill Claypool’s dream of a “blistering guitar solo” on the Pink Floyd classic “Shine on You Crazy Diamond.”
Thanks to chocobot, we have a fresh recording of this vintage Bonnaroo performance that has never been circulated. The sound is excellent!
