Few would even attempt to cover a song as grandiose as Pink Flyod’s Echoes. It’s a masterpiece that unfolds over 23 minutes on the album Meddle and is perfect as is.
Dean Ween is a student of the guitar and classic rockers and he really doesn’t give a shit if you think he should cover a song or not.
Watch as Dean Ween returns to his home and away from home, John and Peter’s to tackle the Pink Floyd opus with some friends in tow including Guy Heller, Bill Fowler, Ray Kubian, Sean Faust, and Chris Williams. Dean gives this the “Live at Pompeii” treatment and stretches the jam out a jaw-dropping 37 minutes. So make yourself a beverage, grab your headphones and sit down and ease into this one.
If you dig the Deaner’s style, check out his tribute to Dickey Betts at the Capitol Theater, his down and dirty Low Rider cover or his soaring “Maggot Brain” at John and Peter’s.
