Michael “Mickey” Melchiondo, Jr. or better known at Dean Ween, made a stop at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY for a show with his own band, aptly named the Dean Ween Group. A soundboard recording has surfaced of the full show from last Saturday and it is a barn-burner for show. Among the highlights were a sit-in from Les Claypool and a Stella Blue cover. Another personal favorite of mine, is the Deaner’s tribute to Allman Brother Guitarist Dickey Betts, titled you guessed it – “Dickey Betts.” Betts is one of Mickey’s biggest inspiration and you can hear a lot of ABB in his soloing, especially on this song.
