I was fortunate enough to be in attendance at last night’s Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration finale in Central Park. It was a treat to see Warren play Tiger and hear the beautiful music of the Dead come to life with that backing of a symphony. The highlight of the show was the sprawling Terrapin Station that came back in the second set time and time again.
After two sets of symphonic Jerry Garcia, the symphony took their bow and were replaced by Eric Krasno, Marco Benevento and a horn-trio for an extended encore. It was straight fire.
Watch this great fan footage of a favorite Jerry Garcia Band cover “That’s What Love Will Make You Do.” Warren’s solo leads to a great horn section solo, which leads to a blazing Krasno solo which leads to a red hot Marco Benevento solo on the keyboards. Needless to say, it’s a must see.
