During the 1991 spring tour the Grateful Dead added the beloved Jerry Garcia Band tune “Reuben and Cherise” to their repertoire. The Dead debuted the song in Landover, MD on March 17th and played it twice more before the final performance on 6/9/1991 at Buckeye Lake.

Footage of the song from Buckeye Lake is the latest installment of the Grateful Dead’s All the Years Live Youtube series. The Dead’s lineup that tour had a double dose of keys with both Vince Welnick and Bruce Hornsby in the band.

Here’s what Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux says about the performance—”This was the fourth and final live Grateful Dead performance of this classic Garcia/Hunter song from the Jerry Garcia Band’s ‘Cats Under The Stars’ album, all four of which were played in 1991.”
