Got the summertime blues? Go on a long, strange tour with me through time. Every day in the month of July, we’ll feature a vintage recording from the Dead. Tune in on YouTube and join the chat as we explore the wonders of summer tours past. We will get by, we will survive!
Our We Will Get By Streaming Tour continues tonight with an underrated Independence Day show. In 1981, the Dead summer tour rolled into Austin, TX for the 4th of July. Beyond the wonderful music, the show featured a parachuter, an epic fireworks display at set-break and the Hells-Angels at the gates.
“Jack Straw,” “Peggy-O,” “Not Fade Away,” and “Sugar Magnolia” are just a few of the many highlights of this show.
