It’s spring and that means that Jazz Fest has sprung. The part Dead tribute outfit, Voodoo Dead and it’s revolving cast of characters came alive again at Jazz Fest in New Orleans this year for two shows. Last year, Voodoo Dead came together for a series of shows with Oteil on bass. This year’s incarnation included George Porter Jr. on bass, Steve Kimock on guitar, Jackie Greene on guitar, Jeff Chimenti on keys, JM Kimock and Wally Ingram on drums plus a special appearance by guitar prodigy Brandon “Taz” Niederauer on guitar.

Voodoo Dead’s Friday night show stretched way into the wee-hours of the morning and included a sprawling 20-minute “Eyes of the World.”
