Last night marked the first weekend of Desert Trip. The sold out “oldchella” featured the monsters of rock from 50 years ago including the Stones, Paul McCartney, Dylan, Neil Young, Roger Waters and The Who. Wow.
Last night Roger Waters took the stage before The Who and performed a career-spanning 27 song set. Double wow.
On a night were all eyes were on the second presidential debate, 75,000 of us were seeing a real show. Roger Waters has been an outspoken opponent of Donald Trump and took last night’s performance as another opportunity to share his thoughts. During “Another Brick in the Wall Part 2” 15 school-age children came onstage wearing T-shirts that read, “Derriba el muro” – Spanish for “Take down the wall.”
Here is awesome front-row footage of some of the other tunes from the epic set.
