Worlds collided this past Sunday at the Terrapin Crossroads Backyard. Phish bassist, took the stage with Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh and Friends to perform two full sets of Dead with a couple of Phish tunes. The monster 24 song setlist is something to behold.

Although Gordon passed on touring with Dead and Company, he still has the upmost respect and love for the Dead and their sprawling catalogue.

Phil and Mike were joined by Jackie Greene, Barry Sless, Jason Crosby and John Molo.

The “Big Bass Bash” was kicked off with a blazing Shakedown Street. While the bass mix is a little washed out in the recording, Barry Sless and Jackie Greene have some killer guitar solos. Jackie devolves the uptempo “Shakedown” into a considerably more intentional “Low Rider” around 11:10. Cool stuff.
