Greensky Bluegrass has been known to bust out a Dead tune or two during their shows, but this weekend at the Capitol theater was something else entirely.
At the top of the second set, Greensky busted out a Cassidy > Cryptical Envelopment > The Other One> Cassidy. Not your typical Dead cover by any stretch of the imagination.
While the before-mentioned second set opener is awesome, the Dead cover of the evening was a soulful rendition of “Black Muddy River” performed as the second song of the encore. The song gives me chills every-time I hear it.
Thanks to Sean Roche for the video and Keith Litzenberger for the audio! This is my first attempt at mixing, so go easy on me!
If you prefer to check out the full show, I got you covered.
