After Shakedown Stream’s debut last week with Truckin’ Up To Buffalo, the Grateful Dead have gifted us another treasure from their archives—the Grateful Dead Movie.

The movie which was released in 1977, documented the beginning of the Grateful Dead’s hiatus in 1974 with their “final” run at the Winterland in October. Thankfully these would not be even close to the Grateful Dead’s last shows and they would return to the road in 1976. The movie features a burgeoning Deadhead scene, tripy animation sequences and some of the best footage you’ll see of the Dead in the 70s.
