Gary Clark Jr. is a modern day guitar legend. At just 32 years young, this guy has got the best years ahead. The comparisons to Hendrix are convenient because he is African American, but Gary Clark’s blues guitar chops really are something to behold. Especially live.

Gary and his band played a blistering set at LOCKN’ over the summer and the LOCKN’s YouTube channel just released this gem—a 13-minute rendition of one of his classic tunes “When My Train Pulls In.” The jam is littered with nasty guitar solos over a hypnotic rhythm section.

Gary is currently on a solo mini-tour and is making his final stop tonight at Carnegie Hall in NYC.
