Dave Matthews, is usually associated with his band or his 6-string soulmate, Tim Reynolds, but rarely performs solo. Dave made an exception a couple of days ago and played at a Bernie Sanders rally in San Fransisco.

Dave kept the banter to a minimum and launched right into his 4-song acoustic set. The first song is a new DMB song and a solo-debut, “Samurai Cop.” The rest of the set was a collection of DMB favorites—Ants Marching, Don’t Drink The Water and Mercy.

Dave mentions that his mother’s town of Charlottesville, VA and his town, Seattle, WA voted for Bernie in their respective primaries. As sweet and beautiful as Dave’s set was, it wasn’t enough to make California feel the burn. Regardless, take 20 minutes and enjoy some solo Dave Matthews!
