Chris Robinson Brotherhood headed out west to celebrate New Years. CRB played a two-night run at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, CA. All four sets from the two nights were entirely covers. December 30th’s show was more focused on the Dead and Jerry Garcia’s body of work, while the 31st was a heavy set of classic blues music. Both shows look amazing and I can’t wait to get my hands on the recordings!
What Chris Robinson Brotherhood’s Incredible Cover of “Sugaree” at the El Rey
For the countdown to 2017, CRB busted out a live debut of Little Milton’s “Mellow Down Easy” with Chris Robinson doing a hell of a job on the harmonica. As the blues number came to a close, the countdown commenced and Terrapin Crossroads turned into a full-tilt boogie as Robinson and his band busted out the live debut of “Break on Through” by the Doors. The transcendent Doors classic song featured some pretty trippy guitar work courtesy of Neal Casal and Robinson doing a hell of a job on vocals. I could listen to this band do a full Doors cover show.
Thanks to nowiknowuryder for the great footage.
