David Nelson of the David Nelson Band is battling colon cancer and has been forced to sit out a run of shows at the Sitzmark Alyeska Resort in Alaska. Nelson’s friend Bob Weir made the trek up north to sit in for his ailing friend.

Each show featured a mix of Dead tunes, songs from Bob Weir’s new record and a few songs with Bob Weir singing a few acoustic songs solo on stage.

One of the solo acoustic tunes Weir shared was a beautiful cover of Little Feat’s “Easy to Slip.”
